What Is an EMDR Consultant?

WHAT IS AN EMDR CONSULTANT?

An EMDR Europe Consultant is an approved EMDR Practitioner with additional training and experience to work with complex presentations and supervise  EMDR practitioners and assist their accreditations.

EMDR Consultants are committed to maintaining high standards of knowledge, ethics and clinical practice within EMDR. We help develop confidence and competence of supervisees through thought-provoking discussions and the teaching of relevant skills. We are able to help supervisees to attain accreditation status

I am a member of the EMDR Association UK & Ireland (http://emdrassociation.org.uk)

I provide individual face to face supervision for EMDR therapists at all levels of experience for individuals living and working in Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.

GROUP SUPERVISION

Group supervision for organisations such as NHS trusts, universities etc can be easily arranged. I also provide supervision for groups of colleagues in private practice who want to share the cost of supervision.

PHONE/ONLINE SUPERVISION

If you live in other parts of the country or outside the UK and prefer the convenience of telephone or Skype/VSee supervision, that can be arranged easily.

What Happens in EMDR Supervision?

WHAT HAPPENS IN A SUPERVISION SESSION?

A supervision session might consist of:

  • case work
  • learning about new research
  • education about trauma work
  • role plays and demonstrations
  • working on areas of interest, e.g. interweaves or dissociation.
  • look at your wellbeing as a trauma therapist

I am always happy to discuss what is needed to help you develop your practice in the most effective and interesting way.
